A recent article by Security Intelligence discusses seven reasons why global cyber attacks are expected to increase in 2023. It states that the increasing use of cloud computing and the internet of things (IoT) will create new vulnerabilities for attackers to exploit. Additionally, the article notes that the ongoing shift to remote work will make it more difficult for organizations to secure their networks and that the widespread use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) will enable attackers to develop more sophisticated and effective attacks. The article also highlights that the increasing use of cryptocurrency and the potential for nation-state cyber-attacks will also contribute to the rise in cyber-attacks. It also mentions that the lack of cybersecurity professionals and the low budget allocated for cybersecurity will also make organizations more vulnerable. The article suggests that organizations need to be proactive in identifying and mitigating these risks in order to protect themselves from cyber attacks.
